Queenslanders will be slugged more than $80 a year to use their wheelie bins under the State Government’s waste legislation.

The tax will be added to household rates notices with Gympie Regional Council forced to act as debt collectors for the State Government.

This cost on households is utter rubbish.

Families can’t afford another tax.

Gympie residents shouldn’t have to foot the bill so the State Government can say it is looking after the environment.

In 2018 the Premier said the waste tax wouldn’t impact Queenslanders.

We now know that is clearly not the case.

It’s yet another broken promise.

Every person will pay a price.

This is clearly not an environmental initiative it’s a money raising initiative, a blatant money grab.

Struggling Gympie households should not be a cash cow for incompetent and greedy government.
