It is important that everyone, locals, businesses owners, and community leaders have a look at the plan and provide input.

This plan will be looking at the needs of this region for the next 25 years.

From my local government days, and as a former Deputy Mayor of this region, I understand particularly well how important it is to get this right.

It underpins everything.

Good planning means we can deal with and anticipate the infrastructure we need for rapid growth in the region.

Gympie is a high growth commercial and residential corridor in a strategic location.

We’re already situated within the catchment of whatever happens in the southeast corner.

This is a desirable region, and we need to have the infrastructure to give people, families, businesses, and workers the confidence to borrow and invest in the region.

Good planning must then be backed up by the state government.

Unfortunately to date we have been seriously short of state government support.

The legacy of lack of state government investment is an indictment of 31 years of State Labor government which have ignored the needs of this region.

It cannot continue
