The volume of public transport users in regional areas is always challenging.

Local public transport services must suit our community.

Increased patronage relies on making sure the timing and routes are right and get to the right places.

Otherwise, it creates significant social and financial disadvantages for older and younger people, the disabled and socially disadvantaged.

Locals need to be able to connect to services and facilities in the main street of town, shopping centres, hospitals, education facilities, and outside communities such as on the Cooloola Coast.

Servicing routes which are inconvenient or do not match the habits and needs of locals are self-defeating.

It is important that the State Government and TransLink work with local operators to ensure the region has a regular and the most applicable public transport service as possible.
